Tanorexic

Hello girls!

Long time, no see. Blame work!
As you may or may not know I have a job where I work with children and teens at a journalism workshop @ Diário de Notícias at Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon. Then, I have a freelancer job as a book editor and up until today I also am a freelancer journalist for two online magazines.
However, I decided I can't do everything. I have to let one of the jobs go and I'll have to quit the last one, I suppose. On a positive note, another book publishing company has shown interest in my work and will send me my first piece of work as soon as possible. :)

Life is good right now, I can't really complain. I'm making my own money, have a lot of (good) friends, a great boyfriend and now I also have something I've wanted for a long time... A TAN!

For those who don't know me, I am very light-skinned and often look very pale, especially on Winter, which was really annoying me, since I couldn't find a right shade of foundation; they all looked too dark for me.
Now- since last Wednesday- I have been using a self-tanner for my body and my face and I look and feel much better. I look a lot healthier, my skin is glowing (without looking orange) and I feel a lot more confident.

I'm loving my new tan. :D
Maybe I'll post some pictures soon.

Valentine's day lingerie

If you have a boyfriend I would suggest skipping the cliché Valentine's Day gifts and just buy some sexy lingerie for yourself. You'll feel great and he'll love it!
Victoria's Secret has really great V-Day lingerie. They really know what I like... :x

My picks:

Street style at its best

I love to get my inspiration from street style "modelles" by anonymous people. :)

Are YOU having a fashionable Winter?

Lovely girlie tattoos

More than nice tattoos on women, I love girlie tattoos on women. Eheh. Tattoos don't have to be harsh and manly, as you can see in these images.
I've wanted to get a tattoo for ages now. Since this year so many good things are happening to me, it might just be the right time for me to get one. :)

The Rapunzel Effect

Lately I've been thinking about getting hair extensions. I've had some when I was 16 or 17 but I was too young and careless and didn't exactly take care of them properly.
If you have some advice for me concerning hair extensions, I woul be forever thankfull.

I want super long hair now. :x

Mind the Gap

2010 became the year that having a gap between your two front teeth - or a diastema, which is the proper term- became in vogue, literally.
I personally love a modest gap between the front teeth and seeing these photos almost makes me wish I had one. Ahah. I remember when I was in elementary school, I had a friend that wore braces to correct her gap. I always thought she look super cute with it.

I love it that the fashion industry is embracing these sort of things that make people look unique and not like everybody else. Strangely, the fashion industry is demanding an imperfect, quirky kind of beauty; seemingly models with freckles, big, frizzy hair, fair skin, and now the gaping look.

My new (Tommy Hilfiger) baby

This is one of the watches from the Tommy Hilfiger collection. I have one just like this and I'm so in love with it. My mom got it for me as a present for getting my master's degree. Lucky me. :) It's simple, girly and cute, plus it looks good with everything.

My style icon: Effy Stonem

Today I'm going to introduce you to my current style inspiration (well, since September 2010): Effy Stonem! Effy- played by Kaya Scodelario- is a character from a British tv show called Skins (one of my favourites) :D She wears black a lot, I'd say almost all the time (a bit like me), and her outfits are usually inspired by punk and rock 'n roll. I live her style and everything rock and punk. Also grunge ;)
I'll let you see for yourself:
